A repairs planner in social housing coordinates and schedules repair jobs for residents, manages the logistics of maintenance work, and acts as a point of contact for customers and tradespeople. Their duties include scheduling appointments, assigning jobs to staff and contractors, monitoring work progress, and ensuring that repairs are completed on time and within budget. They must maintain accurate records and have strong organizational and communication skills.
Key responsibilities
    • Scheduling and coordination: Arrange appointments for repairs, coordinating schedules for both internal staff and external contractors to ensure efficient workflow.
    • Resource management: Monitor and allocate resources, including staff and materials, to make sure jobs are completed on time and within budget.
    • Customer service: Serve as a key point of contact for residents, handling repair requests, providing updates, and addressing customer needs.
    • Communication: Maintain clear communication between residents, maintenance teams, and managers.
    • Record keeping: Keep accurate and detailed records of all repair and maintenance activities.
  • Compliance: Work with teams to ensure that all work is completed to the highest standards and meets health and safety requirements.
