📍 Location: Birmingham, B1 2JB (Hybrid – 2 days per week at the office, 3 days remote)
💰 Salary: £58,000 – £67,000 per annum + £2,500 car allowance
📅 Contract: Fixed Term – 9 months
Hours: 37 hours per week

About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager (EWI) to oversee Fire Safety and External Wall Insulation (EWI) works for a 9-month fixed term contract. This role will involve managing projects across multiple localities, ensuring compliance, quality, and successful delivery within agreed timelines and budgets.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the delivery of Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) actions and related improvement projects.

  • Ensure all works meet project timelines, quality standards, and health & safety compliance.

  • Allocate FRA actions to appropriate contractors and manage through to certified completion.

  • Maintain strong daily engagement with contractors and internal colleagues to ensure efficient project progress and customer satisfaction.

  • Support the Director of Operations in managing repair demand, packaging works, and mobilising subcontractors.

  • Maintain financial control, ensuring projects are delivered within scope, time, and budget.

  • Oversee the receipt of External Wall Surveys (EWS), collaborating with consultants and fire safety leads to procure and appoint contractors.

  • Act as Client Contract Administrator for EWS projects, managing communications, handling complaints, and ensuring delivery to specification and budget.


About You

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager within EWI, Fire Safety, or related property improvement works.

  • Ideally from a trade or technical background, with a sound understanding of construction processes and contractor management.

  • Strong leadership and people management skills, capable of guiding teams and contractors to meet performance targets.

  • Excellent negotiation, risk management, and decision-making abilities, with experience managing contracts and resolving defects.

  • Effective communicator, able to engage confidently with contractors, consultants, and senior stakeholders.

  • Highly organised, results-driven, and adaptable, with the ability to work across multiple sites and occasionally attend out-of-hours meetings.

  • Recognised for integrity, initiative, and commitment to successful project delivery.


Requirements

  • Based in the Midlands

  • Experience in EWI projects is essential.

  • Trade background acceptable.

  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites.
