Plant Manager
Tier 1 Maintenance Contractor

Job Overview
We are actively seeking a Plant Manager to oversee and look after a busy plant/warehous and sign in and out machinery at various sites across London. The successful candidate will need to carry out stock takes/Inventories, check equipment is in good working order and fully organise the plant and warehouse. They will also need to have good understanding of M+E and ideally come from an Electrical background.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide high level company representation and ensure compliance to all company’s rules and regulations
  • Carry out weekly stock takes/inventories.
  • Ensure the warehouse/stores are tidy, safe, secure and staffed at all times during company opening hours.
  • Ensure all stock items are placed in the allocated space and keep them clean and dry (no items to be left outside).
  • Accept and manage supplier deliveries and storing them in the correct place.
  • Informing the procurement team when deliveries arrive so that they can be delivered to site on time.
  • Book in good from site clearances when jobs are finished.
  • Take deliveries for Head Office over to the office when they arrive.
  • Provide a high level of support to the procurement and site team to assist them to reach targets and deadlines.
  • Manage company owned equipment/plant and updated the system when plant items are taken to site so that they can be signed out and track all owned equipment/plant to ensure it is returned.
  • Report any plant/materials that is broken/unusable to the procurement team so that they can be written off.
  • Work closely and effectively with procurement/operational teams by responding to internal enquiries in responsive manner.
  • Postholder will treat all stakeholders with respect and maintain a neat appearance in line with the company dress code policy.
  • Store/Protect/Respect all company equipment issued to you to carry out your role diligently.
  • Where appropriate direct, mentor and train in accordance with policy any temporary employees and apprentices.
  • Develop and maintain relationship with management and supervisors to resolve any issues and concerns in line with company policy.
  • Comply with Business requirements for quality recording, benchmarking, testing and audit relating Business Unit work stream
  • Ensuring all accidents/incidents/near hits are reported in accordance with Company guidance and timescales
  • Utilising and updating information on company stock management system and any other internal IT processes.
  • Be willing to undertake further and additional training where required and in direct relation to the Business Stream requirements whether required by CPD, legislative or contract requirements.
  • Ensure system is kept up to date when new plant is purchased
  • Managed return cable to the stores for reuse with cable is requested by the site teams.
  • Test and refurbish returning plant to best of abilities.
  • Managed / book in with external companies to carry out refurbishment if required i.e (Spraying)
  • Plant availability report to be sent up on a monthly to all PM / SM.
  • Managed quarterly plant stock takes.
  • Liaise with logistics manager to arrange for plant delivers and returns

Qualifications/Experience

  • CSCS Card
  • Electrical – Level 3
  • Driving Licence
  • Electrical Knowledge/Background
  • Knowledge of site/temporary plant environments
