Outline of Opportunity:
We are seeking a strategic and driven & Maintenance to take lead on responsive repairs, voids, and essential maintenance services. In this pivotal role, you will report directly to the Director and hold overarching responsibility for the quality, safety, and efficiency of housing maintenance operations.

The Role:
As the Head of Repairs & Maintenance, you will direct and plan all responsive repairs, projects, and programmes under your control. You will be the technical and commercial lead for several key business areas, including:
- Repairs & Maintenance: Managing day-to-day operations and central functions like Joinery, Glazing, and the Call Centre
- Compliance: Ensuring all works meet legislative standards, including gas, electrical, and asbestos removal.
- Voids Management: Overseeing the efficient turnaround of empty properties.
- Safety & Quality: Implementing robust Health and Safety standards and Quality Management Procedures to protect staff and residents.
Responsibilities:
- Operational Excellence: Lead the programming and delivery of services to ensure they are completed on time, to budget, and to a high standard.
- Financial Accountability: Conduct costing, profitability, and productivity analysis to ensure value for money.
- Strategic Leadership: Deputise for the Director and contribute to the development of business functions, tendering for new works, and procurement of subcontractors.
- Customer Satisfaction: Establish an inspectorate regime and protocols to ensure high levels of client and resident satisfaction.
- Team Development: Provide line management and lead training initiatives, including the staff performance appraisal scheme.
Key Skills:
- Experience: A proven background in a management position responsible for repairs, maintenance, and multi-disciplinary projects.
- Technical Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of housing repairs, Schedule of Rates, British Standards, and the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974).
- Skills: Strong people management, IT literacy, and the ability to produce complex technical reports and feasibility studies
- Qualifications: Professional membership (or working towards one) in a relevant field and a full valid driving licence.
- Desirable: Experience with Servitor/MRi systems and an understanding of the DLO environment.
