Repairs Planner – Loughton

Location: Loughton, Essex
Pay Rate: £17 per hour
Contract: Temporary, until January

We’re currently recruiting for a Repairs Planner to join a busy property and infrastructure environment based in Loughton, on a temporary contract through to January.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Repairs Planner, Scheduler or Coordinator who is confident managing a high volume of repair requests and ensuring jobs are scheduled efficiently and completed within required timescales.

The Role

As a Repairs Planner, you’ll be responsible for coordinating day-to-day repairs and maintenance activities, ensuring jobs are correctly allocated and scheduled while keeping customers and operational teams informed.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Scheduling and coordinating repair and maintenance appointments.
  • Allocating jobs to engineers, operatives and contractors based on availability, location and skill set.
  • Managing a high volume of reactive repairs and ensuring jobs are prioritised appropriately.
  • Liaising with operatives throughout the day to monitor progress and manage changes to schedules.
  • Contacting customers to arrange and confirm appointments where required.
  • Responding to changes, cancellations and urgent repair requests.
  • Monitoring outstanding jobs and ensuring repairs are progressed within agreed timescales.
  • Updating internal systems with accurate job and appointment information.
  • Liaising with tenants, customers, contractors and internal teams.
  • Escalating delays, access issues or other problems that may affect service delivery.
  • Providing general administrative and coordination support to the repairs team.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is organised, calm under pressure and confident managing a busy workload.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in a Repairs Planner, Repairs Scheduler, Maintenance Coordinator or similar role.
  • Experience within housing, property maintenance, facilities management, construction or infrastructure would be advantageous.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • The ability to prioritise urgent and routine repairs effectively.
  • Good IT skills and experience using scheduling or job management systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate record keeping.
  • The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage changing priorities.
