The Role
We are seeking an experienced Repairs Supervisor to join our social housing maintenance team. The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day management of responsive repairs and minor works, with a focus on pre-disrepair cases, damp and mould, and some kitchen and bathroom projects. You will lead a small office-based team of four (2 x Administrators and 1 Supervisor, plus yourself), coordinating a network of subcontractors to deliver high-quality services.
Key Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate a team delivering responsive repairs and minor works across a social housing portfolio.

Manage a subcontractor-based workforce, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely completion of works.

Oversee and manage cases of pre-disrepair, damp and mould, and oversee kitchen and bathroom works when required.

Monitor workloads, allocate jobs, and ensure efficient use of resources.

Carry out site inspections and quality checks to ensure works meet required standards.

Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation, company policies, and client requirements.

Provide clear reporting and updates to senior management and stakeholders.

Support the administrative team in scheduling, performance monitoring, and handling tenant queries.

Act as the point of escalation for repairs issues, resolving problems swiftly and professionally.
Key Requirements

Proven experience in a supervisory role within repairs, maintenance, or social housing.

Strong knowledge of damp, mould, disrepair, and kitchen/bathroom refurbishments.

Experience managing subcontractors (no direct trades staff).

Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.

Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with residents, contractors, and clients.

Good IT literacy (MS Office, housing/repairs management systems).

Full UK driving licence (company van and fuel card provided).
